Saket Court

Saket Court hears civil, criminal and family cases for the South and South East Delhi districts, including the Family Courts for those districts. On the criminal side that means bail applications, trials and cheque bounce complaints; on the civil side, property, recovery and tenancy suits within the district courts' ₹2 crore limit. The Family Courts hear divorce, maintenance, custody and other matrimonial cases. Our advocates act at Saket in divorce, maintenance, criminal defence and civil matters, from our chamber in the Lawyers Block.

Saket Court covers the South and South East Delhi districts. A criminal case comes here when the FIR was registered at a police station in either district, a property suit when the property lies there, and a family case when one of the tests in Section 19 of the Hindu Marriage Act points to South or South East Delhi. Send us the FIR, the property address or the matrimonial address and we will confirm the court.

Yes, if the law ties the case to South or South East Delhi. Under Section 19 of the Hindu Marriage Act, a divorce petition can be filed where the marriage was solemnised, where the respondent lives, where the couple last lived together or, if the wife is filing, where she now lives. A maintenance application under Section 144 BNSS can be filed where the husband or the wife resides, among other places (Section 145 BNSS). If any of those places is in either district, the Family Court at Saket can hear it.
